ー400年つづく仙台唯一の和紙工房ー

仙台藩祖「伊達政宗」が4人の技術者を招き、仙台市柳生の地に”紙漉き”を根付かせてから400年。今でもその技術、伝統を大切に守りながら「自然原料」「手漉き（手作業）」による繊細で、かつ丈夫な和紙が作られています。 仙台で残り１戸となった柳生和紙。大切な伝統を守るために、現在も心をこめて作っています。 ------ It has been 400 years since "Date Masamune," the founder of the Sendai clan, invited a craftsman to the area of Yagyu in Sendai City and established the art of papermaking there. Even today, delicate and durable washi made from natural raw materials and handmade, while carefully preserving the techniques and traditions, is still being produced. Yagyu Washi Workshop is one of the remaining houses in Sendai City. The 10th generation is still making it wholeheartedly to preserve this important tradition.
